The Local Business Assistance Program was established by the College of Business at the Florida Institute of Technology as one of the major programs under the College of Business’s Center for Applied Business Research. The mission of the Local Business Assistance Program is to provide a service to the local business and professional community by offering research assistance in key functional areas such as marketing, finance, organizational behavior and general management.
The Local Business Assistance Program has the following objectives:
- To provide an opportunity for business students, working in a team environment, to focus their energy, education and skills on the solution of real world problems identified by local business/professional organizations.
- To provide host business/professional organizations access to dependable, motivated and knowledgeable students who are able to think critically and bring innovative problem solving and decision making perspectives to an organization.
- To complement other local business development resources by providing knowledge and recommendations to help increase profitability, reduce business failures, foster economic growth and encourage entrepreneurial interest in starting and growing businesses.
- To provide a valuable interface between the College of Business and the leaders in our local business community.
- To support the Industry/Education partnership that exists between the College of Business and the local business and professional community.
