Supporting the School

Message from the Dean

DeanWelcome to the web site of the College of Business.  If you are a prospective student at either the undergraduate or MBA level, we want you to know that our faculty and staff desire to assist you with any questions you may have as you seek to further your education. We want to invite you here personally to share in our rich history, to explore our beautiful campus, and to become a part of the quality educational environment we offer here at Florida Tech.

  • Our small class sizes provide the opportunity for our faculty to get to know their students on a first-name basis from the moment they arrive on campus.   Our class sizes range from 5 to 35 and average less than 20 students per class.
  • Our current undergraduate enrollment is made up of 30% international students, coming from such countries as Brazil, Italy, Norway, Israel, Haiti, Jamaica, Australia, and India.  This mix provides for rich classroom discussions involving today’s global business environment.
  • Perhaps the most unique experience you will have here in our college is the ability to engage in a “hands-on” education.  All of our undergraduate students are required to take an academically-based internship (called a Practicum) that involves working in a local company to gain experience in their major during their senior year.
  • Our close proximity to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center, as well as having local major technology companies such as Harris Corporation, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and NASA, means that our students have a unique opportunity to work in the high-tech industry while studying here at Florida Tech.   A number of our MBA students are already employed in these firms or in high-tech entrepreneurial start-ups while they are pursuing their degrees.

Please call or email if you have questions about any of our programs.

Regards,

Robert E. Niebuhr, Dean
